1. Be considerate of others!
a. What this means….
i.
Don’t
leave the bathroom floor, toilet seat, or counters wet from use
ii.
Don’t
leave your clothes or towels on the bathroom floors
iii.
Clean
up the area where you eat, drink, or play
iv.
Don’t
leave cups, shoes, or plates in the living room or bedrooms!
v.
Recycle
your pop cans in correct containers
vi.
Turn
out lights, games, and TVs when last to leave a room.
vii.
Do
not wake others up if you cannot sleep or get up earlier than necessary.
viii.
Do
not go into other peoples rooms without permission, or take games/money/property without permission from them.
ix.
Don’t
walk around in your underwear
x.
Turn
down the volume on your TV, Video Games, PCs, Stereos
if others are not watching the same program or are in the room next to you.
xi.
Don’t
eat all the cheese! (cheese means spaghetti, pizza,
brownies, cookies, mac & cheese, ice cream,
popsicles, etc. before asking if everyone has eaten yet.)
xii.
Eat
everything you put on your plate/bowl!
Don’t leave food in the sink with your dish.
2. Be responsible!
a. What this means….
i.
Do
your homework without being told. Ask
for help to get it right!
ii.
Do
your best on all homework and tests!
1. You are all capable of
straight A’s, and you should not be happy with less.
iii.
Correct
all homework or tests the teacher gives back.
Let someone else check your work.
iv.
Study
hard for school tests the night before or sooner.
v.
Tell
parents if you need supplies for projects, or classroom before the day they are
due.
vi.
Ask
for help if you need it, but try to do your own work.
b. Get yourself up for school
at least 1 hour to 45 minutes before the bus will arrive
c. Shower, everyday (wear
deodorant, don’t forget to pick up towels an put in laundry bins)
i.
Use
less water when others need to shower
d. Brush your teeth, everyday
(in morning and at bed time for whiter teeth and less cavities)
e. Look in the mirror and fix
your hair, everyday
f. Look at your clothes you
put on, or have someone else check you out.
g. Don’t miss the bus!
h. Remember your lunch, water,
gym clothes, and stuff for sports and school)
i.
Keep
your room clean! No one likes to look at
a floor full of clothes or trash. Make
your bed, don’t leave cans, trash on desks, floors, and
clean spills immediately.
3. Respect Parents
a. If we ask you to do
something, DO IT! If you cannot do it
immediately tell us when it can be completed and stick to it.
i.
If
you follow the house rules, we will ask very little of you.
b. If you are grounded from
TV, Games, or Computers…TURN OFF and STAY OFF.
i.
That
means do not be around them until the time period we told you is up, or you
have asked us, and we allow you to.
ii.
TV,
Video Games, Computer time, and Internet use are privileges you can lose by not
following the House Rules.
c. Do your chores!
i.
You
have each been assigned one task a week.
This may increase so enjoy this light load while you can and do your
task the best you can.
d. Go to bed on time!
i.
9-9:30pm
is bed time during school days. The only
exceptions are:
1.
If
we have prevented you from completing your homework and you need to stay up to
finish.
2.
If
school or other sports have prevented you from finishing homework.
3.
If
you did not have time due to homework to finish showering.
ii.
No
TV, Video Game, or PC game should be on between 9:30pm-6:30am
4. Do Something Nice for Someone Else, EVERY WEEK!
a. Be creative this is
mandatory!
b.
Examples
include: help someone with carrying books, open doors, help clean up, fix
something, help with homework, give someone their clean laundry, take laundry
to drawers without being asked, pick up trash or balls in yard, help carry or
put away groceries, and so on…
c.
Be
prepared to tell what you did when asked.
